Cinemas struggle in Afghanistan

Technology has helped Afghans gain access to films on television, leaving old movie theatres struggling.

In Afghanistan, it has been widely reported that some liberal culture has made a comeback since the Taliban was ousted in 2001.

But a once thriving cinema industry has not returned.

Al Jazeera’s Jane Ferguson visited one of Kabul’s most famous cinemas.
