Katy Perry provides boost for UNICEF

Global pop superstar Katy Perry is using her celebrity status to raise awareness for underprivileged children.

It has been sixty years since the United Nations first got into the celebrity business.

Singer and actor Danny Kaye was UNICEF’s first-ever Goodwill Ambassador in 1954.

The UN has worked with countless celebrities since then.

The latest goodwill ambassador to be announced by UNICEF is the pop star, Katie Perry. So why did she take the job?
