Vintage Tintin comic draws record price
Rare 1932 edition of “Tintin in America” by Belgian artist Herge goes for $1.6mn in Paris auction.

A rare 1932 edition of a Tintin comic cover has sold at auction in France for a record 1.61 million dollars.
The anonymous private buyer paid the record amount for the copy – one of only five still in existence – of Tintin in America, making it the most expensive comic cover ever sold.
Tintin was written by the Belgian Georges Remi, under the pseudonym Herge. They tell the adventures of the young reporter Tintin and his faithful dog Snowy. It first appeared in 1929.
