Pop contest linguistically challenged
Some say allowing contestants to sing in English detracts from Eurovision’s appeal.

It’s into its 56th year and still going strong. The grand final of Eurovision Song Contest takes place in Germany on Saturday.
But since the rules were changed allowing entrants to sing in any language, more and more are using English. And some believe that takes away from the competition’s appeal.
