Lowes, a US chain of home improvement stores, is facing a barrage of complaints after it withdrew advertising from a reality TV show that looks at the lives of American Muslim families.

The chain ended its association with “All-American Muslim” after the Florida Family Association, a conservative group, charged that it was “propaganda that hides the danger Islam represents to American liberties”.

Now a US senator says the company’s “naked religious bigotry” must be corrected or a nation-wide boycott may be in store.
