Most of the media, unsurprisingly, blames Iran alone for the failure of the weekend’s nuclear talks in Istanbul.

But there’s one very significant item of information that  almost no-one has bothered to report… bar Reuters.

During talks in Istanbul on Saturday, EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton proposed to the Iranian side that Tehran send abroad 2,800 kg of low-enriched uranium (LEU) and 40 kg of higher-grade material.

That represents a massive increase in the quantity the P5 1 was demanding last time the sides came to the table.
