Anna Chapman has joined the political ranks by becoming part of the youth wing of prime minister Vladimir Putin’s party.
Her debut resembled something of a rock concert and her message was fit for a beauty contest.
Chapman and nine others were discovered as Russian spies in the United States this summer, in what turned out to become the biggest spy scandal between the two countries since the cold war.
But whereas her colleagues have preferred to stay out of the limelight, Miss Chapman has revelled in the fame.
As part of the Young Guard’s public council, some believe it is the first step in her ambitious foray into a serious political career.
