Tokyo to restrict manga sales

Authorities say ban is to ‘protect schoolchidren’ from exposure to ‘extreme anime’.

Japan’s famed animation studios face a showdown with lawmakers, after officials in Tokyo passed a law restricting the sale of manga comics and anime films that contain “excessive sexual depictions”.

Critics of the move say it is an attack on free speech.
