Africa’s ‘Slumdog Millionaire’

A new film presents a different side to the continent and is tipped to become the new ‘Slumdog Millionaire’

From Rwanda to the Red carpet, a new film about Africa arrives in London tipped to be the next ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.

Africa United follows the adventures of a group of Rwandan children as they travel 3,000 miles across the continent to reach the world cup in South Africa.

Fed up with watching films gave a desperate and depressing image of the continent, the film makers set out to break the mould.

Al Jazeera’s Charlie Angela caught up with the crew at its premiere in London.
