African analogue broadcasts to end

Viewers are advised to switch to digital signals on Intelsat 10.

Viewers of Al Jazeera programmes on the analogue satellite Arabsat Badr-C are advised to switch reception to a different source, as transmissions on this satellite are due to be switched off at the end of July.

The broadcast on the satellite at 26 degrees East includes both the English and Arabic channels, which are available on other digital satellites serving Africa.

To continue receiving Al Jazeera English, viewers are advised to switch to the Intelsat 10 satellite at 68.5 degrees East. The tuning parameters for AJE are:

Frequency: 4064 MHz
Polarisation: Horizontal
Symbol Rate: 19850 KS/s
FEC: 7/8
Type: Digital

Although this satellite largely serves the Indian sub-continent, its signals can be received across Africa and South East Asia.
