Botswana’s diamond industry losing its sparkle

Thousands working in the country’s diamond industry left jobless as a glut in supply and falling sales take their toll.

Botswana’s diamond industry is slowing down due to global competition. There are too many of the precious stones on the market and sales are falling. So far the development resulted in a third of employees in the country’s diamond cutting and polishing sector losing their jobs.
