Large-scale sand mining along Nigeria’s coast raises concerns over erosion and other environmental damage.

Sand mining along the shoreline is being blamed for major erosion in Nigeria.
The government of Lagos has been trying to regulate the process. Only a small number of companies are licensed to dredge sand, but scores of others, are known to mine illegally.
Al Jazeera’s Rawya Rageh reports from Nigeria’s commercial capital, Lagos.
