India tea workers decry exploitation

Despite being part owners, the tea plantation workers of Tata say they are living in absolute poverty.

Earning less than $2 per day, many working in India’s tea industry complain that they are not being treated fairly.

The World Bank has authorised an investigation into labour and human rights violations at Tata, the owners of the Tetley Tea brand.
