Food price hike hits Nepal’s Humla district

Remote district’s poor infrastructure blamed for big rise in food prices.

People from the remote district of Nepal’s Humla are facing a big rise in food prices because of poor infrastructure that disconnects it from the rest of the country.

Nepal has promised to connect Humla to other districts within two years but locals say that it’s only a road to Tibet that will take them out of poverty.

Al Jazeera’s Subina Shrestha reports.
