China displays global clout at APEC summit
President Xi Jinping welcomes world leaders at newly built grand complex highlighting country’s economic ascendancy.

World leaders wrapped up the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in China on Tuesday.
The meetings ended with a promise to improve relations between regional rivals and a plan for better free trade across the region.
It was also an opportunity for the host China to project its image as a global power, with President Xi Jinping hosting the event at a palatial complex built especially for the event.
