Economic challenges await Botswana’s Khama

Unemployment is high and demand for diamonds, Botswana’s main export, is down, presenting an uphill climb for president.

Botswana’s President Ian Khama has been officially sworn in for a second term after his party won a national election with a reduced majority.

Khama campaigned on a promise to create jobs in a country where unemployment is high and demand for diamonds, its main export, is down.
