NZ dairy firm halts Sri Lanka operations

Fonterra’s decision follows protests outside its factory after lifting of ban on product sale and advertising.

Fonterra, a New Zealand dairy company, has temporarily suspended its operations in Sri Lanka after protests outside its factory. The company has described the move as a precautionary step. It comes as a district court in Sri Lanka lifted a ban on the sale and advertising of certain dairy products. Al Jazeera’s Minelle Fernandez reports from Colombo.
