US corporate giants back gay marriage

Major companies such as Google oppose Defence of Marriage Act, signalling shift in culture.

The US Supreme Court takes up the issue of gay marriage this week, specifically whether or not a federal law defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman is constitutional.

It is called the Defence of Marriage Act, and nearly 300 companies are taking a stand against it, calling it bad for business.

From Google to Goldman Sachs, major companies are on board, signalling a shift in corporate culture.
