The Dubai air show has shattered records, demonstrating the spending power of airlines and, in particular, state-backed carriers in the Middle East.
Dubai’s flagship carrier Emirates ordered 50 Airbus A380 jumbo jets and 150 of Boeing’s new long-haul aircraft, 777x, spending over $100bn in the largest airline contract in history.
