Libyan militia alliance to start selling oil

Announcement comes as sources of revenue continue to slip out of central government’s coffers, especially in the east.

A coalition of Libyan militias has announced it will sell oil from a terminal it controls, as more sources of revenue continue to slip out of the Ali Zeidan-government’s coffers.

The powerful militias, which include religious and secular groups, have made Libya’s central government ineffective in many parts, especially in the eastern part of the country.

Al Jazeera’s Osama Bin Javaid explains.
