Poverty stalks ‘economic powerhouse’ Germany

While unemployment in Germany is under six percent, poverty affects 16 percent of the population.

In other words, having a job does not prevent you from being poor.

For those who fall within the category, it can mean skimping on visits to the doctor, not being able to pay for heat in the winter, and a lack of fresh food.
