Germany gains from Spain’s brain drain

Highly skilled workers from recession-hit economies are being targeted by the German government.

Besides budget cuts and “austerity measures“, another concern for poorer European nations is the departure of their citizens for countries with healthier economies.

The German government has been actively recruiting engineers and other highly skilled workers from recession-hit states such as Spain.

Al Jazeera’s Nick Spicer reports on one such recruitment programme from Donaeuschingen in south-western Germany.
