Textile workers in Bangladesh have returned to work after days of strikes and violent rioting forced 200 factories to shut down over the disappearance of a trade union leader.
Human rights groups have accused law enforcement agencies of murdering Aminul Islam, whose body was later found with injuries suggesting he was tortured before being killed.
The workers have also been protesting against widespread exploitation and low wages, which they say are not enough to put a decent meal on the table.
Many of the garment makers earn below the minimum monthly wage of $36 working for major clothing brands.
