Macedonians protest government spending

Demonstrators accuse government of corruption and wasteful expenditure.

Macedonians have marched against the government in the capital, Skopje, but unlike the rest of Europe, their chants are not against austerity cutbacks.

Demonstrators accuse the authorities of widespread corruption and going on a spending spree, which they claim wastes too much of the country’s financial resources.
