India’s Tata passes baton to next generation

Ratan Tata, who transformed Tata group into $100bn global giant, hands over reins to Cyrus Mistry.

Ratan Tata, one of India’s most respected industrialists and head of India’s largest company, TATA, has finally handed over the baton to the next leader.

In the 22 years that he has been at the helm, Tata helped increase the company’s turnover by twenty fold to $100bn a year and transformed it into a global giant.

Cyrus Mistry, who is related to Tata family through marriage, will take over as the next chairman, but it will be difficult for him to fit in Tata’s shoes.
