US government nears fiscal cliff

Democrats and Republicans continue to butt heads on how to solve the nation’s financial-solvency problem.

For two years, Democrats and Republicans in the United States have been arguing over how to lower the country’s deficit.

Now, they are at it again. But this time, they have a new deadline, as they teeter on the edge of the so-called Fiscal Cliff – an imminent wave of tax increases and spending cuts.
