Ireland seeks debt restructuring aid

Help sought from France and Germany as government weighs cutting another $4.5bn from public spending.

The government of Ireland is planning to cut another $4.5bn from public spending. The country is pleading with France and Germany for a restructuring of its debts so it can alleviate its crushing austerity.
