Mexico workers decry labour reforms

Proposed law to make it easier for firms to fire employees and reduce previously guaranteed daily wages.

Workers in Mexico are angry at a series of proposed labour reforms that the government is keen to push through.

The government says the new law is aimed at making Mexico more competitive and will create thousands of new jobs.

Workers, however, say they will be forced to accept lower wages and will not be able to afford to pay their bills. The new law would also make it easier for firms to fire their employees.
