India suspends Kingfisher licence
Move comes after debt-stricken carrier grounded flights for weeks following staff protests over missed salaries.

Indian regulators have suspended the licence of Kingfisher Airlines after the debt-stricken Indian airline failed to address concerns about its operations.
Kingfisher’s flights have been grounded since the start of the month after staff protest over missed salary payments turned violent.
The airline, which has never made a profit since being founded in 2004 and reeling under $1.4bn of debt, could have its licence reinstated if it provides a plan that satisfies the aviation regulator, a government source said.
