Japan invests heavily in Myanmar
Japan and Thailand to help build special economic zone to help boost Myanmar economy.

Japan is taking the lead in helping the nation of Myanmar overcome its economic problems.
Tokyo has already agreed to waive billions of dollars in debt, and is helping Myanmar pay back loans.
And it is expected to ask other nations to contribute – as the International Monetary Fund and World Bank meet in the Japanese capital.
Al Jazeera’s Wayne Hay reports from Bangkok, Thailand.
