Costly tea off the menu for many Pakistanis

With food inflation consistently high, the price of a Pakistani staple has tripled in recent years.

Food inflation in Pakistan has been consistently high for several years, seriously affecting citizens purchases of daily necessities.

One of those daily necessities is tea – a staple of any Pakistani diet. Under the current government, the cost of a single cup of tea has nearly tripled, mainly as a result of rising milk and sugar prices.
