Microsoft to buy Skype in $8.5bn deal
Software giant to acquire internet phone service as Microsoft attempts to compete with rivals.

Microsoft has announced it’s making its biggest ever acquisition – it will buy the Internet phone service Skype for $8.5bn dollars.
The software is so popular, it’s now become a verb, meaning to make an internet call or video chat.
Al Jazeera’s Scott Heidler reports from New York with more on the deal.
