Barack Obama, the US president, is gearing up to send Congress his budget request for 2012.
The Obama administration is wrestling with record budget deficits and a limping economy.
And on Wednesday, the head of the US Federal Reserve warned that current job growth is not good enough for a sustained economic recovery.
