Spanish villagers celebrate lottery win

A rural northern village, hit hard by Spain’s worst economic crisis in decades, now has reason to celebrate after winning $940m in the world’s biggest lottery.

The top prize, El Gordo, which means “The Fat One”, will be split between holders of the winning ticket in the rural town of Granen, in Huesca province, which along with several outlying villages is home to just 2,000 people.
