Fresh hope for Uganda’s gorillas

Conservation efforts reverse decline of one of the world’s most endangered primate populations.

Gorilla Uganda

The mountain gorilla is one of the rarest primates on earth but poaching, habitat destruction and human disease left its numbers dwindling to just a few hundred in the past decades.

But Uganda has shown that there is hope for this endangered animal.

Efforts by conservation groups and the local communities have helped boost the shrinking numbers.
