Just over a week ago Florin and his family, like 1,000 other Roma, boarded a plane in Paris and flew home to Romania.
They accepted tickets and a small resettlement payment from the French government to avoid, what Florin says, were repeated warnings that they would otherwise be ejected later with nothing.
The family and others say they are planning to go straight back and visa-free travel as EU citizens means there is no reason for them not to.
Al Jazeera’s Jonah Hull caught up with the family, and others, in their home village outside Bucharest.
