Outgoing president made Colombia a safer place, but abuse allegations tainted his rule.

Colombia’s outgoing president Alvaro Uribe has been credited with making Colombia a safer place.
He doubled the size of the country’s military, tackling the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (Farc) guerrillas and drug traffickers. But that record remains tainted by allegations of widespread human rights abuses during his leadership.
