Barack Obama, the US president, has said the financial reforms he just signed into law should also aid economic recovery and help unemployed citizens get back to work, citizens like Timothy Ryan.
The 51-year-old lost his job at a production company where he had worked for more than two decades, and is now struggling to make ends meet.
He tells Al Jazeera his story.
