For five weeks, British oil giant BP has tried, and failed, to plug a well spewing oil in the Gulf of Mexico.
Now the company has launched its latest attempt, called ‘top kill’, where heavy mud and cement is pumped into the well to block the flow.
Louisiana governor says more than 160 kilometres of the state’s fragile coastland have already been affected by the millions of litres of oil that has been gushing out for more than a month.
