Mexican police on diet to success
Low-fat diet introduced to improve fitness and performance among law-enforcement force.

Nutrition specialists and doctors are working with the city government to introduce healthier habits to the city’s police force in an effort to improve fitness and, in turn, performance.
Officials have placed 13,000 police on a low-fat diet, starving them of traditional foods like tacos and tamales and introducing vegetables and fruit instead.
But, as Al Jazeera’s Franc Contreras reports from Mexico City, old habits are hard to break.
