China city banking on bikes
Communal bicycle-sharing project seen as a solution to pollution and traffic congestion.

China’s booming economy has seen car sales explode in recent years with latest figures showing China surging past the US as the world’s number one car market.
But the growth in car ownership has also brought with it chronic traffic congestion and soaring levels of pollution.
In the city of Hangzhou however, a communal bicycle-sharing programme is being touted as a model solution to the problem.
