From hunter to wildlife protector

A former hunter in Bangladesh has now dedicated himself to rescuing animals.

Sitesh Ranjan Deb is hailed as a champion conservationist in Bangladesh.

The former hunter, who lost an eye in a bear attack, has rescued and freed more than 3,000 animals including leopards, pythons and wild boars.

Al Jazeera’s Nicolas Haque travelled to Lawachara to visit Deb’s home, which he has turned into a wildlife sanctuary.
