In June, Malaga football club was bought by Sheikh Abdullah al-Thani, a Qatari businessman, for a reported fifty million-dollars.
The club was founded in 1948. Malaga won the Spanish second division title in 1999, the old Uefa Intertoto Cup in 2002.
The club and its fans are hoping for more wins under the new ownership. The club’s new Portuguese coach Jesualdo Ferreira said facilities at the club had improved drastically.
“You can’t buy trophies, but you won’t win them either without spending a few dollars,” Ferreira said.
