Police in the English city of Manchester have taken the unusual step of publishing every single call they take from the public in real time on the social media website Twitter.
Officers are hoping the exercise will show the public and the politicians how much the police have to deal with.
The move comes as police brace themselves for heavy budget cuts, expected in the government’s spending review next week.
