Al Jazeera examines how the crisis in US healthcare system affects everyday lives.

US healthcare crisis weighs heavily on Obama

Healthcare has become so expensive in the US that the inability to pay medical bills is a leading cause of bankruptcy.

The administration is ratcheting up the pressure on congress to enact meaningful reform to cover the 15 per cent of the population without insurance.

In a special four-day series, Al Jazeera will examine healthcare systems in the United States and other countries, to look at some of the best and worst care available.

Al Jazreera’s Rob Reynolds reports from Baltimore, Maryland, on how the crisis in America’s health care system affects ordinary people in their everyday lives.
