Algeria’s Yahia suspended

Algerian international defender Antar Yahia has been suspended for his country’s next two African Nations Cup qualifiers.

The Nice player was sent off during his country’s opening qualifier against Guinea in Conakry on Sept. 3 and has been given the two-match ban for violent conduct.

It means the French-born defender will not be able to play in a competitive international until June next year, missing Algeria’s home matches against Gambia on Oct. 6 and the Cape Verde Islands on Mar. 23 next year.
