Plot to kill Israeli president 'foiled'

Hungarian authorities have foiled an assassination attempt against visiting Israeli President Moshe Katsav in the capital Budapest, a local radio station said.

    Three Arab nationals had been arrested, Inforadio reported on Tuesday, quoting intelligence sources.

      

    There was no official confirmation, although police were planning to hold a press conference later in the day on the incident.

      

    Katsav is on an official visit to Hungary.
