Looters killed in explosion

Twelve Iraqi looters were killed in a blast at an ammunition dump said Aljazeera TV’s correspondent in Tikrit.

    The looters were trying to salvage copper that they could resell when the explosion occurred in the early dawn hours on Monday morning.

    The dump remained on fire several hours after the explosion and the sector was declared a closed military zone by US forces.
