New cases of the novel coronavirus that emerged in the central Chinese city of Wuhan in late December are being reported daily around the world.
More than 65,000 people have died from COVID-19, as the illness is officially known, while over 1,200,000 infections have been confirmed in at least 180 countries and territories. More than 250,000 people have recovered from the coronavirus.
Here are the countries that have so far confirmed coronavirus cases:
United States - 312,249 cases, 8,503 deaths
Spain - 130,759 cases, 12,418 deaths
Italy - 124,632 cases, 15,362 deaths
Germany - 96,108 cases, 1,446 deaths
France - 90,853 cases, 7,574 deaths
China - 82,602 cases, 3,333 deaths
The total includes 41 cases in Macau and 765 cases - four deaths - in Hong Kong.
