50 years since North Korea attacked a US spy ship

Can the US use the same tactics to address North Korea's nuclear programme today as it did to negotiate the release of 82 US sailors in 1968?

Tuesday marks 50 years since a US spy ship came under attack off the coast of North Korea.

More than 80 sailors from the USS Pueblo spent almost a year in jail before being released.

Al Jazeera looks back at how these events could provide insight into the current tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
